The importance of spending time outdoors

a) Students make a list of five benefits of spending time outdoors
b) Students also ask a parent/carer to make the same list independently. Compare the two lists and discuss them at home: are they different and why?
c) Ask students to say which they think are the two most important of these and why. Again, compare with the parent’s view.
d) Set up a family target or pledge of going out and doing an outdoors activity together. There are lots of ideas online and in books (look in your local library).
